Penn State Wilkes-Barre be- gins its Spring ‘97 series of micro- computer workshops on March 10. The workshops offer hands- on skill training for all levels of computer literacy, from introduc- tion to PC computing for the com- puter novice to programming in Visual Basic for the power PC user. Both Windows 3.1 and Win- dows ‘95 platforms will be fea- tured. Software applications in- clude Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and WordPerfect. In- troductory, intermediate and ad- vanced levels of most software applications accommodate a va- riety of skill levels and training needs. New this spring is a 24-credit certificate program based on com- puter skills called the, “Manage- ment Information Systems Cer- tificate.” Program courses em- phasize the use of computers as tools for providing information for effective decision making and in- creased productivity.
