Kimberly Ann was united in marriage to Michael Anthony Peck, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Peck, Jr. of Ashley on September 23, 1995. The cer- emony was held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth and was officiated by Rev. Thomas Hudak. The bride was given in mar- riage by her father and had her sister, Michele Lynn, as maid of honor. Following a honeymoon in Hyannis, Mass. the couple re- sides in Sweet Valley. On May 18, 1996, Michele Lynn was given in marriage by her father to attorney Joseph Burke, 111, the son of Eliza and Joseph Burke, Jr. of Newport Township. A candlelight reli- gious ceremony was held in the rotunda of the Luzerne County Courthouse. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Richard Rexrode,of the Church of Christ, Sweet Valley, with classical chamber music being provided by Supplee Strings Quartet. Sister of the bride, Kimberly Ann Peck, served as matron of honor. Michael Dempsey Burns, cousin of the groom, was best man. Bridesmaids were Jane Burke, Brenda Young, Michaelene Mitchell and Sara Karlowicz. Groomsmen in- cluded John Marko, John MR. AND MRS. The first air-carrier passenger service out of the area originated from the local port with the flying of the Douglas DC-3, operated by American Airlines. The airport, whose inception dates back to circa 1910, was incorporated in 1929. The Wyoming Valley Airport was a training site for the Army Air Corps during World War II. In the years since, the three- letter airport identifier (WBW), sig- nifying Wilkes-Barre/Wyoming Valley, has become a mainstay with thousands of aviators both near and far. The airport's his- toric main hanger still stands to- day. Admission is free to the airport grounds.
