50th wedding anniversary
., Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Reese, Dallas, will celebrate their 50th
|. wedding anniversary October 5.
They were married in the Luzerne Methodist Church by the late
Mrs. Reese is the former Martha Hadsall. She is the daughter of
Blanche Hadsall, Sweet Valley and the late Bertel B. Hadsall.
| . Mr. Reese is the son of the late Thomas G. and Priscilla Brace
‘|’ Reese of Dallas.
"Their marriage has been blessed with three children: Priscilla
Aldrow, Hunlock Creek; Shirley Shoff, North Carolina and Thomas

announce the marriage of their
daughter, Kimberly Ann Young,
to Michael Anthony Peck, and
the recent marriage of their
daughter, Michele Lynn
Maransky toJoseph Paul Burke,
III.
Kimberly Ann was united in
marriage to Michael Anthony
Peck, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Anthony Peck, Jr. of Ashley on
September 23, 1995. The cer-
emony was held at Our Lady of
Mt. Carmel Church, Lake
Silkworth and was officiated by
Rev. Thomas Hudak.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and had her
sister, Michele Lynn, as maid of
honor. Diane Madle, Brenda
Young, Lorraine Katchik, Lora
Cragle, Tina Hummel and Ro-
maine Bohl were bridesmaids.
The groom chose Tony
Suchowierski tobe his best man,
Dave Madle, John Young, John
Oley, Scott Temperine, Gene
Radginski, Paul Radginski were
ushers. Steven Katchik served
as ring bearer.

An evening cocktail hour and
reception was held at the Center
Inn, Nanticoke.
Arehearsaldinner was hosted
by the parents of the groom at
the Alden Manor, Nanticoke. A
bridal shower was given by at-
tendants, mothers and grand-
mothers of the bride and groom
at the Center Inn, Nanticoke.
Following a honeymoon in
Hyannis, Mass. the couple re-
sides in Sweet Valley.
On May 18, 1996, Michele
Lynn was given in marriage by
her father to attorney Joseph
Burke, 111, the son of Eliza and
Joseph Burke, Jr. of Newport
Township. A candlelight reli-
gious ceremony was held in the
rotunda of the Luzerne County
Courthouse. The ceremony was
officiated by Rev. Richard
Rexrode,of the Church of Christ,
Sweet Valley, with classical
chamber music being provided
by Supplee Strings Quartet.
Sister of the bride, Kimberly
Ann Peck, served as matron of
honor. Michael Dempsey Burns,
cousin of the groom, was best
man. Bridesmaids were Jane
Burke, Brenda Young,
Michaelene Mitchell and Sara
Karlowicz. Groomsmen in-
cluded John Marko, John

Young, Frank Dempsey Jr., and
James Karlowicz. James
Karlowicz, Jr. served as Hog
bearer. ;
Following the ceremony, «an
evening cocktail hour and din-
ner reception were held at the
Golden Palace, Wilkes-Barre.
The bride was honored at a
bridal shower hosted by atten-
dants, mothers, and grandmoth-
ers of the bride and groom at the
Golden Palace. Parents of the
groom hosted a rehearsal din-
ner at Picketts Charge, Dallas.
Following a honeymoon in En=
gland, the couple resides in

Hawker Hurricane; Cessna UC-
78 “Bamboo Bomber” and other
vintage and classic airplanes.
The first air-carrier passenger
service out of the area originated
from the local port with the flying
of the Douglas DC-3, operated by
American Airlines.
The airport, whose inception
dates back to circa 1910, was
incorporated in 1929.
The Wyoming Valley Airport was
a training site for the Army Air
Corps during World War II.
In the years since, the three-
letter airport identifier (WBW), sig-
nifying Wilkes-Barre/Wyoming
Valley, has become a mainstay
with thousands of aviators both
near and far. The airport's his-
toric main hanger still stands to-
day.
Admission is free to the airport
grounds. Refreshments will be
available for purchase at nominal
fees and a gigantic arts and cralts
show /sale will be held near the
main hanger.

stallation of officers, Sept. 27, at 8
