(CCI), an affiliate of the Dallas-based Com- monwealth Telephone Company, have ratified a new three year contract. The 71 unionized em- ployees of CCI are represented by the Communications Workers of America. The contract includes a 5.7 percent first year wage increase for top level technicians and a 4.0 percent first year wage increase for top level installers. Wage in- creases in the second and third year of the agreement will be 2.5 percent and 2.1 percent respec- tively. Employees will receive one ad- ditional personal holiday and in- creased vacation time flexibility. Also, effective January 1, the com- pany will offer a 401(k) retirement savings plan and a dental plan for employees and their families with the company and employees shar- ing premium costs. Rossi, 32, who led police on a high-speed chase through four countiesJune 22, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Aug. 13 before District Justice James Tupper on two felony counts of aggravated assault and a misde- meanor charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol and controlled substances. He must also pay a total of $13,646 in restitution for damage to cruisers from Dallas and Lehman town- ships, insurance deductibles, blood tests for drugs and alcohol and other costs incurred by the investigation. In an agreement with the dis- trict attorney's office, Rossi will plead guilty in Luzerne County court to the charges which he waived. Related citations for reckless driving, illegal passing, careless driving and speeding, misde- meanor charges of D.U.L, reck- less endangerment and fleeing police pursuit, and seven felony WAIVES CHARGES OF FLEEING POLICE PURSUIT Hunlock Creek resident Eric Todd Marsh, 19, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Aug. 15 on a misdemeanor charge of flee- ing police pursuit and citations for underage possession of alco- hol, speeding, reckless driving, illegal passing and driving with- out his headlights on, all con- nected with a high-speed chase. He was arrested June 6 by Kingston Township officer Franklin Buckler, who tried to pull him over for driving without his headlights on while going north on Rte. 309. Marsh continued driv- ing, illegally passing two other vehicles, weaving in and out of trafficand reaching speeds of more than 90 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. Police finally pulled him over on Rte. 415 between Gerald Ave. and the bowling alley. During a routine search of the car: police found alcoholic beverages. Marsh admitted to police that he had consumed two beers. He also waived his right to legal counsel. Dallas Township police said Rossi illegally passed a vehicle on Rte. 415, then led police from Dallas, Lehman and Jackson townships, Harveys Lake, Dallas Borough and the state police from Shickshinny, Montoursville, Towanda and Bloomsburg on a high-speed chase on routes 118 and 220. His route took them through Columbia, Lycoming and Bradford counties to New Albany, near Dushore, where he was ap- prehended after trying to avoid a police roadblock by driving through a field. Along the way Rossi struck the Dallas Township cruiser three times, the Lehman cruiser twice and the Dushore cruiser and a State Police car once each. He also hit a deer, which bounced off his car and struck the front of the Lehman Township cruiser. He was represented by attor- ney John Donovan. The women were charged June 27 by Pennsylvania State Police bureau of liquor control enforce- ment after an investigation into the illegal use of four video poker machines and three older model bingo-style pinball machines by awarding cash prizes at the Post Home's bar.
