They were married in the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake by Rev. Walter A. Stewart. Mr. Mahle is the stepson of Betty Mahle, Meeker and the late John Mahle Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Roberts Mahle. Mrs. Mahle, the former Wilma Titus, is the daughter of Ruth Titus of Harveys Lake and the late Henry (Hank) Titus. , They are the parents of two sons, Fred Jr., Glenn, Macon, Georgia. Fred and Wilma have been blessed with four grandchildren. Fred, Jr. and his wife, the former Marianne Dennis, have two sons, Ryan and Jason. Glenn and his wife, the former Lisa Williams, have two children, Jeremy and Nichole. Glenn and Lisa will'add another grandchild, who will be welcomed into the Mahle Fred and Wilma celebrated the occasion with a trip to the Mountain Laurel Resort, White Haven. Fair to feature Hershey's Cocoa recipe contests The Luzerne County Fair has teamed up with the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs and the Hershey Resort & Confer- ence Center to award cash prizes for the “Greatest Cocoa Cake” and for the “Best Cocoa Cookie” made from scratch. This preliminary competition leads to the selection of the Commonwealth's best cake and cookie during the annual Pennsylvania State Farm Show nextJanuary in Harrisburg. Win- ners at the Farm Show will be awarded a weekend trip for four to the Hershey Resort amd Confer- ence Center. Recipes must accompany all entries, which must be displayed on a doily-covered cardboard. Contestants must be Pennsylva- nia residents. Rules for the local contest are: Greatest Cocoa Cake Contest The layered cake must be made from “scratch” and frosted-origi- nal recipes are encouraged. Hershey Cocoa must be used in the recipe. Hartshorne is tops in dance Beth Hartshorne recently com- peted in the Precision Unlimited Dance Competition at the Moun- tain Laurel Resort and won first place in every category she en- tered. Beth won first place in solo lyrical and solo tap. She and her duo partner Kara Shilinski, won first place in the lyrical, tap, and open categories. They also won the competition's duo/trio award for the highest scoring duo/trioin the entire competition. Beth is a member of the Bobbette Dance Company. They won first place in tap, lyrical, bal- let and funk. The Bobbettes also won the Hall of Fame Award for the highest scoring group or line “in the competition. Beth has studied dance under Barbara Woronko Anzalone at the Northeastern Pennsylvania Acad- emy of Dancing for 11 years. She has performed in five full length ballets. Beth will be a junior at Dallas High School. She has been se- lected to Who’s Who in American High Schools for two consecutive years. She is the daughter of Rev. Don and Sharon Hartshorne of Orange. Carmel Church slates bazaar Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, will hold its annual bazaar Aug. 16-18, on the church grounds. All activities are under cover. TOPS Queen visits Dallas chapter PA State TOPS Queen, Debbie Price, from Chapter #711 Tamaqua recently visited TOPS Chapter #923 Dallas. She gave an inspirational and uplifting story of her life and the success she obtained while in the TOPS Club. She also appeared on “Inside Edition” to tell her story of how she lost 290 Ibs.
