The 50th annual library auction was a tremendous success, with good weather, and many items for auc- tion. The crowds were more than willing to pay the price for the item they wanted. The net profit should prove to be a substantial figure to add to the operating budget. Another July record breaker is always the children’s story hours and the summer reading program. July is always the month that we set records in circulation figures. July of 1996 the total circulation was 9,829: adult, 4,766 and juve- nile 5,063. Reference questions totaled 412; Book Club circulated 319. Total books added 217; books withdrawn 569; new borrowers 137, re-registrations 279. The 9,829 circ was the highest since 1992.
