Faith O'Dell won spot shooting, while Amanda Hoffman was named outstanding player and Lindsay Tasker won the Coaches’ Award. 100 mile touring ride August 24 The Wyoming Valley Bicycle Club will sponsor its annual WVBC/ Grotto Pizza Great 100 Touring Ride, August 24 al Harveys Lake, featuring 25, 50 and 100 mile tours of N.E. PA. All rides will begin and end at Grotto Pizza on Route 415 at the entrance to the lake. The first riders will depart at 8 a.m. rain or shine. All of the rides feature rest stops well-stocked with snacks and drinks. The routes will be well marked and riders will receive detailed maps. Cherup's 23 points not enough The Athletic Image used Paul Darling's 15 points to post their second win 46-42 over Oliver Cale in the Dallas Borough Summer Basketball League. Cory Cherup's 23 led all scores for Oliver Cale. The Knights won a big game to keep their playoff hopes alive beat- ing The Lion 76-67. Jesse Martin fired in 27 points for the victors including five three pointers. Greg Bogdon had 19 for The Lion. Camp Orchard Hill kept ashare of first place by dumping Woychick Acc. 71-55. In Tuesday night's game, above, coach Gary Naugle bucked up Robyn Considine, who pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. At right, Maureen Paley held the runner on at first base. She pitched 3 2/3 innings and took the loss. POST PHOTOS/JIM PHILLIPS Little League plans World Series trip There will be a bus trip to the Little League World Series in Williamsport on August 19. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from the Back Mountain Little League field. The trip is for children who played in the major league division of Back Mountain Baseball this past season. All others interested will go on a waiting list. Price is $10 per seat. Make-up exams will be held August 2 at 10:30 a.m. for junior high sports at the junior building and August 5 at 10:30 a.m. for senior high sports at the senior high building.
