The festivities will begin Au- gust 2 at 9:30 a.m. at Pavilion I at the Lake Jean Beach Area with an official welcome by Park Manager Terry Daltroff. “Indian Lore and Artifacts,” “History of Ricketts,” “The Lum- bering, Tanning and Iceing Era,” “Sullivan County /Turn of the Cen- tury,” “Backpacking and the Loyalsock Trail,” “Central Lum- bering” are just a few of the inter- esting and educational topics to be discussed by featured speak- ers. Exhibits by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Fish and Boal Commission and the Bureau of Forestry will be on display. Special historic exhibits will be presented by the Sullivan County and Wilkes-Barre historical soci- eties. Nature walks include “Ramblings at Ricketts,” “Falls Trail-Ganoga Glen,” and “The Ghost Town of Ricketts.” Evening programs include “The History of Lopez-Lumbering and Mining Era” and the “Ghost Towns of Ricketts, Stull and Noxen." Parkrangers, and maintenance staffs and lifeguards and local fire companies search and rescue teams, will hold demonstrations.
