The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, July 3, 1996 DA Ham radio operators to meet at fairgrounds July 7 The Murgas Amateur Radio Club will hold its 17th annual ‘Hamfest and Computerfest July 7 at the Luzerne County Fair Grounds in Lehman. Hundreds of exhibitors will offer new and used amateur radio equipment, computer equipment and all sorts of electronic components for sale. The gates open at 8 a.m. with an admission charge of $4.00. Chil- dren under 16 and unlicensed spouses are admitted [ree with a ticket holder. Refreshments will be available on the grounds. The Federal Communication Commission examinations for all classes of amateur radio operator licenses are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is not necessary. The event takes place rain or shine. Indoor vendor space for 3 the sale of new or used amateur radio related items or computer equipment is available by con- tacting Bob Michael at (717) 288- 3532 or Mike Benish at (717) 388- 6863. On display are a variety of com- positions, including a pen and ink illustration of the United States Capitol, abstract mixed media creations, several plein air pieces and children’s illustrations. Madleira's art reflects the beauty of the environment around her, from the intricate detailing of a flower's petals to the quietness of a beach hideaway. She enjoys writing scripture verses in callig- raphy or freehand with original decorative borders and the ex- hibit includes several of these pieces. Madeira primarily works in ~ graphite; pen and ink: colored pencil and watercolor pencil. She is a graduate of Kutztown Univer- sity, an art instructor at Sue Hand's Imagery, Dallas, and a member of the Pennsylvania En Plein Air Society. She and her husband, David, have two children and reside in Shavertown. The public is invited to view this display of artwork in the lobby of Mellon Bank, Main Street, Dal- las, during regular banking hours through the middle of July.
