Born Oct. 22, 1947, in Wilkes- Barre, he was the son of Loretta Reh Conrad, Dallas and the late Louis J. Conrad. Sr. He was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Wilkes- Barre, class of 1965. HewasaU.S. Air Forceveteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a sergeant. He was active in youth sports as a founder and coach of South Wilkes-Barre Mini Mohawks and as a manager and umpire of Back Mountain baseball. He and his wife, the former Joan Toenniessen, celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on Dec. 13, 1995. He was preceded in death by his brother, Louis J. Jr. Surviving in addition to his mother and wife, are daughters, Christina Romayne, State College; Erica Rae, at home; a brother, Raymond M., Dallas; sisters, Mrs. Carl (Nancy) Meurell, Hanover Township; Mrs. Joseph “Red” (Marie) Jones, Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews. Born Feb. 5, 1937, in Swoyersville, he was the son of the former Cecelia Stofko of Mesa, Ariz. and the late Walter Sobocinski. He graduated from Swoyersville . High School, class of 1955, and received his bachelor of arts de- gree from Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, and his master of arts degree from the University of Scranton. He was a former teacher at Tunkhannock High School. For more than 30 years, he taught social studies at Wyoming Valley West Middle School, Kingston. He was a former assitant foot- ball and wrestling coach for the Wyoming Valley West School Dis- trict. He served as treasurer of the Wyoming Valley West Teachers Association since 1966. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Church of Christ Uniting in Kingston. He was founder and owner of Sobocinski Painting, Co., Trucksville. ; Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, the former Beverly Westfield; sons, Robert W.
