Performances were given by the Adult Choir, Children's Choir and Cherub Choir, as well as the Handbell Choir. The program was directed by Gary Kneal. A knife-wielding shoplifting suspect led cops on a not-so-merry chase through back yards, but in the end they got their man. According to Dallas Borough police, David Robert Haas, 34, of Tunkhannock was arrested De- cember 5 and charged with aggra- vated assault, making terroristic threats, possession ofa concealed weapon and retail theft. Rounding the back of the build- ing, Haas pulled out a dagger- type knife and told Gavenonis to “back off.” Haas then ran off in the vicinity of Wellington Street. In an attempt to disguise him- self, Haas removed his hat and coat and threw them into a smol- dering burning barrel as he ran through a back yard between Wellington Street and Route 309, where Fowler arrested him. Haas is free on bail.
