A Fair invites queen entries 'y starts fa swim The 1995 Luzerne County Fall Fair Committee is currently seek- ing candidates for the annual Luzerne County Fair Queen title, the official Luzerne County pre- liminary event to the PA State Fair Queen Event. Young single women between the ages of 16 to 20 years are eligible. The annual Luzerne County Fair Queen is sponsored by Pepsi Wilkes-Barre. The winner will receive a $500 ‘Bond from Pepsi, a tiara and flow- ers, other prizes and gifts. ~The candidate who finishes - second will win a $100 Bond from Pepsi plus gifts. All candidates will appear in a live event on-stage at the Sept. 9 Luzerne County Fall Fair at 4 p.m. Prior to this event, candi- dates will meet privately with the "judges panel. On-stage, Queen candidates will be asked conversational ques- tions, will be asked to present a radio spot to promote attending the Luzerne County Fair. Queen candidates are asked to submit a brief essay on “What The County Fair Means to Me and My Com- munity”. ! The 1995 Luzerne County Fair Queen will also receive compli- mentary expenses in order to participate in the PA State Fair Queen event, in Hershey in 1996 as part of a state-wide Fair Asso- ciation convention. Marilyn Maslow named to Dallas resident Marilyn Mas- low has been named to the Board of Trustees of College Misericor- dia. She will serve a three year term. ‘Maslow is a graduate of Colby- Sawyer College and is well known in the area for her active partici- pation in service organizations, including the American Cancer Society, the Pennsylvania Asso- ciation for the Blind, and the Sordoni Art Gallery.
