Lohman slammed a single to right that got by Shoemaker. All three Horlacher baserunners came around to score on the play. Lohman went to second on the error and was credited with two runs batted in. An infield single by Jason Race scored Lohman later in the inning to make the score 9-4. Adam Harris picked up thewin by being the pitcher of record during the uprising, but turned the ball over to brother Jeremy for the sixth and final inning. Ash- ley/Newtown made it interesting by loading the bases on an error and two walks, but Jeremy struck out every other batter to preserve the win. Early control problems for Adam Harris allowed Ashley/ Newtown to grab the lead. The visitors first three batters loaded the bases on walks by Harris. The clean-up hitter drove in the game's first run by blooping a single over second base. Peter Salerno later scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. Ashley/Newtown doubled their lead by once again scoring two runs on one hit in the second inning. Adam Harris settled down and Ashley/Newtown managed only two hits over the final four in- nings. Adam pitched five innings, struck out seven and allowed four runs on four hits. He walked eight batters, four of them in the first inning. Horlacher got on the scoreboard in the third when Breza scored on aground out. Mark's one out single scored Burnside in the fourth. Mark would later score on an in- field single by Race. For Horlacher Breza went 2- for-2 at the plate with a walk and scored two runs. Race, Kvashay and Burnside each had two hits apiece. Race drove in three runs while Mark and Lohman each had two. Although plagued by mental mistakes early in the game, Horlacher committed just two errors. Mark turned in a couple of nice plays at second base while Burnside made a few behind the plate. The two combined for 14 putouts and three assists. Some nice defense also helped the Horlacher stars in the top of the fifth inning. With runners on first and third, Ashley/Newtown looked to pick up another run when Burnside threw to second on an attempted steal. Shortstop Jeremy Harris took the throw from his catcher in front of second and whizzed the ball back to Burnside to nail McGlynn at the plate. The win kept Horlacher in the winners bracket of the double- elimination tournament and al- lowed them to stay at home for Monday's game the Forty-Fort All- Stars. The squad is coached by Earl Harris and Bill Race. REEL 4.00 P.M.
