Corey “Code” Besteder, 81, of Kunkle, Dallas Township died June 11, 1995 at home. Born in Centermoreland, he was the son of the late Walter and Ruby Schoonover Besteder. He was a graduate of Dallas Borough High School and had resided in Kunkle for the past 56 years. Prior to retiring, he was the owner of the Exxon Service Sta- tion at Kunkle Corners for 35 years. He had previously oper- ated a feed mill in Kunkle. . He was a Navy veteran of World ‘War II. . He was a member of the Sweet Valley Church of Christ. He also was a life member of the Kunkle Volunteer Fire Co., serving as assistant fire chief for many years; the Oneida Lodge Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Dallas; Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672, Dallas; the Senior Bowling and Golf League and the former Vernon Baseball League. He was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and Floyd.
