Directed by Seminary faculty member W. Carver Collins, “The Crucible” tells the familiar story of the 17th-century Salem witch- craft trials. Arthur Miller wrote “The Cru- cible” during the McCarthy “witch hunts” of the early 1950s, when many of his friends and colleagues found themselves in much the same situation as the Salem townspeople. The Dallas and Lake-Lehman school districts will administer assessments (standardized tests) in reading and math skills be- tween February 13 and March 3 to students in grades 5, 8and 11. The results will not affect stu- dents’ grades in any way. The districts will use the assessment test results to improve the cur- riculum.
