Col. Carl Kaschenbach, U.S. Air Force Reserve. Kaschenbach is a graduate of Dallas High School and Rutgers University and has been on active and reserve duty with the Air Force for 27 years, including a tour of Vietnam. He discussed the significance and meaning of Veterans Day, the debt owed by the citizens to the veterans, Wyoming Valley's generations of rich history of military service, reflected in the various parades and presentations by veterans groups and reserve units through the year. Patel accepted in special program Ashish Vimal Patel, of Shavertown, a sophomore at Franklin and Marshall College, is participating in the St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Medical Preceptorship Program, which provides students with the opportunity to observe the evaluation and treatment of patients in an emergency department. The year-long preceptorship program consists of an orientation, regular observational visits to the emergency room and occasional group meetings. Students sign up for regular two-hour shifts in the emergency room, usually under the guidance of their designated emergency medical physician. Savage Is student of month Jennifer Savage of Harveys Lake, a senior at Wyoming Semi- nary was recently recognized as the Kingston Lions Club Student of the Month for October. Savage, the daughter of Atty. and Mrs. Peter Savage, Jr. of Harveys Lake, has been named to the Dean's List with high honors each term. She was inducted into the Cum Laude Society last month, and was named as a Levi Sprague Fellow in recognition of her cam- pus leadership.
