Owned and operated by Shav- ertown resident Neela S. Patel, Mailboxes, Etc., features package shipping services via United Par- cel (UPS), the U. S. Postal Service and DHL International delivery. “We will wrap and box items for shipment, ifit's needed,” Mrs. Patel said. “Our job is to save you leg- work and see that your packages get to their destinations in one piece.” Private mailboxes with 24-hour access, mail forwarding, incom- ing and outgoing FAX service, telegrams, voice mail and elec- tronic income tax filing services specially designed for business- persons working from their homes are also available. Other conveniences for busy customers include photocopying, money orders, instant passport photos, postage stamps and making duplicate keys. Mrs. Patel has lived in the Back Mountain since 1982 and is well- known in the area for her work with the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Auxiliary and the Luzerne County Medical Society Auxiliary, of which she was past president and also served on the state level. She has also volunteered for the American Cancer Society and Dial-A-Driver. Mrs. Patel serves on the board of directors of ARC and the Wyo- ming Seminary Lower School. She and her husband, Dr. Satish Patel, MD, and their three children live in Shavertown. Mailboxes, Etc., is located next to Mimmo's Pizza in the Dallas Shopping Center on Rte. 309. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m week- days and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Satur- days. On rainy Saturday, October 1 around 2:15 p.m. there was a person driving South on Pioneer Ave. Past the Shavertown Methodist Church who had to avoid be- ing hit head on after passing in a no pass- ing zone.
