Baltimore Consort at college College Misericordia will host a performance by The Baltimore Consort, a group that performs the ballads and dance tunes of the 16th and 17th centuries on instruments of those times, on September 15, at 8 p.m. in the Walsh Auditorium. j The Baltimore Consort was founded in 1980 to perform the repertory for Elizabethan consort, a specificinstrumentation of treble viol, flute, lute, cittern, bandora and bass viol. The group has concentrated on British, French and Italian music of the 16th and 17th centuries, The Baltimore Consort has released several compact discs on Dorian Recordings, including On the Banks of the Helicon (Early Music of Scotland), Watkins Ale (Music ofthe English Renaissance) and_La Rocque ‘n’ Roll (Popular Music of Renaissance France).
