Schweitzer, North- east Region land management supervisor, has earned the Penn- sylvania Game Commission's Outstanding Employee Award for 1993. He was presented with a framed certificate and Working Together for Wildlife Fine Art Print by Ex- ecutive Director Peter S. Duncan and Game Commission President Roy J. Wagner at the Game Commission meeting in Harris- burg on June 7. Steve graduated from the Ross Leffler School of Conservation in 1978, and served as a district Game Protector and Land Man- agement Group Supervisor in the ~ Southcentral Region, before being promoted to his present postiion in 1991. Steve resides in the Dallas area and is married to the former Anita Rene Hurstof Bowmansville. They have three children. Prior to joining the Game Commission, Steve spent four years with the U.S. Air Force, graduated from Penn State Uni- versity with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Resource Manage- ment, and completed a one year course at Penn State University as a Forestry Technician. Two area men are elected to offices in Welsh group Trucksville native Jack A. Pritchard was recently elected president of the national Welsh- American Foundation, an inter- sm rt St dr) fo national organization responsible for many cultural and educational programs. Elected as chairman of the board was William F. Griffiths, a native of Trucksville. Pritchard, is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, Wilkes Uni- versity and the University of lowa. He is a past-president of St. David's Society of Wyoming Val- ley and a director of the Pennsyl- vania Welsh Foundation, and a National trustee of the Welsh JACK A. Earns master's degree Nathan Santos, son of Rosendo and Reverend Harriet Santos, pastor at The Shavertown United Methodist Church, has just re- cently been awarded his Master's Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Miami School of Music, Coral Gables, Florida. While at the university, he participated in the Symphony Orchestra and various jazz spe- cialty groups. Nathan will teach at the Encore Music Camp this summer and then plans to locate in the Johnstown, PA area where he will teach privately and work as a performer in Pittsburgh.
