Barbose Karen Ann Perks and Samuel Christopher Barbose were united in marriage April 30, at a double-ring ceremony performed by Msgr. Kevin O'Neil, Father John O’'Bell and Father Joseph Sam- mons at St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. Soloist was Kimberly Kirk. Mrs. Barbose is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Perks, Forty Fort. Barbose is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barbose, Shavertown, and grandson of the late Tony Barbose. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose her sister, Susan Dwyer, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Drea Barbose and Jean Crane of Bloomsburg, Pa. The best man was Brian Kistler of Philadelphia. Groomsmen were Anthony Barbose, and Jeffrey Barbose, brothers of the room. 8 An evening cocktail hour and dinner reception was held at Fox Hill Country Club, West Pittston. A rehearsal dinner, catered by Coscia catering, was hosted by the parents of the groom at their home in Shavertown. The bride was honored at a shower given by the mother of the groom at The Appletree Terrace at Newberry Estate, and a shower given by her mother at the Wilkes-Barre Legion. Mrs. Barbose is a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School and attended East Stroudsburg University. She received a BS from Bloomsburg University in the Interpreter Training Program. She works with the American Red Cross as an inter- preter of sign language for the deaf and is employed by Diversified Records Services, West Pittston. Barbose is a graduate of Dallas Area High School. He is emloyed by Jack Masonry as a stone mason. Following a honeymoon to a villa in St. Johns, Virgin Islands, the couple lives in Luzerne. MR. Her Venice lace crown of satin and simulated pearls had a nylon ;| fingertip length veil. High bowlers were listed as Ray Yuknavage and Irene Katyl. Members celebrating birthdays in the month of June are Louise Capozzi, Charles Galluccio, June Konek, Lee Rogers, Lillian Sover- oski and Marge Molley, who was the winner of the birthday table centerpiece. Fifty-fifty was won by Marie, Yuknavage and Irene Katyl. The annual Fathers’ Day picnic will be held June 17, at the River- lands Recreation Park, with Lou- ise Capozzi and Nicholas Pericci co-chairing the event.
