RANGERS 20 - PIRATES 1 Matt Wycallis struck out six batters and banged out two doubles to lead the Rangers. Jeff Faneck had two hits, including a double, for the Rangers while Billy Evans added a pair of singles. Dan Fauerbach had a triple whil Adam Pelak and Mulhern had the only hits for the Pirates. GIANTS 18 - ORIOLES 3 Mike Domzalski picked up the mound win and had four hits at the plate, including three doubles, to lead the Giants. J.B. Bucha had three hits for the winners while Tom Byron, Justin DiGuiseppe, Mike Bayer, Dan Mulhern and Jared Karalunas had two hits apiece. Ted Stark had two singles to lead the Orioles while David Cummings and Chris Wilt each had a double. GIANTS 3 - YANKEES 1 Winning pitcher Joel Whipple and Jimmy Belles combined to strike out 12 batters as the Giants edged the Yankees. Whipple and Belles each struck out six batters in three innings. Tom Byron led ~ the Giants with two singles while Mike Barlow and Pat Mulhern had the only other hits for the Giants. Robbie Werner pitched well despite the loss, striking out six in five innings and not allowing a run after the third inning. Brad Fellecia had two hits for the Yan- kees while Mike Lykon, Steve Federspiel and Emmanuel had the only other hits for the Yan- kees. PHILLIES 6 - INDIANS 2 Josh Katyl scattered four hits, striking out 13 in going the dis- tance as the Phillies beat the Indians. Matt Hoover had two hits for the Phillies while Chuck Whitehead, Josh Lesinski and Ryan Sorber each had doubles. Jesse Stolarcyk, John Nackley, Brian Endrusick and Rice had the hits for the Indians. PHILLIES 14 - ASTROS 5 Ryan Sorber and John Slaby combined on a four-hitter to lift the Phillies. Sorber struck out six in three innings and allowed one hit. Slaby helped his own cause with three hits while Josh Les- inski, Ryan Sorber and Josh Ka- tyl (double) had two hits apiece for the Phillies. Damien Temperine, Mike Stan- islow, Lorne Trapani and Jamie Rhodes had the hits for the As- tros. TIGERS 5 - PHILLIES 4 The Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to post a come-from-behind win over the Phillies. The Tigers had six hits, all from different players. Kyle Reid, Brian Barrett and Josh Tamanini each had hits during the Tiger fifth. Randy Knappman picked up the win, striking out four in three innings. The Tigers played fine defense with 13 put- outs without an error. Josh Katyland Matt Hoover led the Phillies with two hits apiece, with Hoover banging out a triple. Harveys Lake Little League HARVEYS LAKE METS 5 BACK MTN. DODGERS 4 Greg Woronko's third RBI of the game on a sacrifice fly proved to be the game winner as Tommy Brislin scored in the bottom of the fifth. The Dodgers gave the Mets all they could handle behind the two hit pitching of Matt Loftus who went the distance. He struck out five while walking three. Josh Schraeder made his pitching debut going three innings and giving up four runs. D.J. Kapson picked up the win while striking out nine and walking one. T.J. Dougherty led the Dodger hitting with two hits while Steve Moyer and Ben Brown each doubled. ~ HARVEYS'LAKE METS 11 - ‘HORLACHER YANKEES 7 D.J. Kapson delivered two home runs and a single while Greg Woronko added a home runand a double to lead the Mets to their seventh win in as many tries. | Nine year old Dustin Kapson went four innings to pick up the win in his first pitching assignment of the year, Josh Schraeder threw the final innings to preserve the win. Gary Sagan tripled and Tommy Brislin doubled to help spark the Mets attack. Karl Kvashay led the Yankee hitters with a double and two singles while Matt Mark added two singles. HARVEYS LAKE METS 19 - HARVEYS LAKE PIRATES 1 D.J. Kapson went 5-5 while knocking four home runs and a double and drove in nine RBI's. The other half of the dynamic duo, Greg Woronko went four for five delivering two home runs, a triple, and a single. Woronko pitched .a complete game while striking out 13 and walking one. He allowed four hits. David Wolfe had three hits, while Tommy Bris- lin added a single and double and Josh Schraeder added two singles. Russ Mosier homered for the Pi- rates and Ricky Hislop had a double and single. D.J. Kapson raised his home run total to 11 for the year. - BMT Blast takes U-10 title . The Back Mountain Blast U-10 Soccer team recently competed in - the Soccerpalooza in Wilkes-Barre.
