Lake Silkworth Lions name John Link student of quarter At the Lake Silkworth Area Lions’ recent dinner meeting at the Red Rooster Restaurant, Pikes Creek, John C. Link III, “Student of the Quarter” at Lake-Lehman High School, was presented with a certificate in recognition of out- standing school and community achievement . Link is active in the school band and is vice president. He audi- tioned for various Pennsylvania Music Educator's Association Festivals and successfully par- ticipated in three years of District Band, three years of Regional Band and three years of Pennsyl- vania All State Band. He was one of six trumpets from 11 states to be selected All Eastern Orchestra Festival. He is a member of the six-time world champion Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps and will tour with them this summer throughout the United States and Canada. Other activities include the Jr. Leadership Program of Wilkes- Barre, the United Way Board of Youth Allocations and the Dallas United Methodist Church Youth Group, a member of the tennis team and one of the managing editors of the student newspaper. He is a member of the National Honor Scoiety and was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Science Award. Link plans to attend college and major in Business and Fi- nance.
