EIGHTH GRADE Honors With Distinction: Alma DeRojas, Matthew Koch, Kathleen O'Brien. Recently the students of the Dallas Middle School attended an assembly program presented in honor of Veteran's Day. The pro- gram began with a drum march and flag presentation. The sixth grade chorus sang a patriotic song, and school board member Mr. Jack Cleary led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. Student council president Jennifer Moran introduced the speakers. School board member Mr. John George told the stu- dents about the American Legion's various activities. School director Mr. Thomas Landon discussed the importance of the military reserve. The topic which WBRE news- caster Mr. Keith Martin addressed was the great concern over serv- ice personnel who are missing in action. Martin told the students that they can also serve the com- munity by giving of their time and energy through their school, church or scout groups.
