6 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, November 24, 1993 Hazeltine pens history of church In observance of its 150th Anniversary in 1994 the Trucksville United Methodist Church will publish a history of its ministry from 1844 to 1994. Louise Hazeltine will author the work. The book will reflect the growth of Methodism in the village of Trucksville. The author has at- tempted to incorporate the sig- nificant activities which have occurred in the life of the church, reflect on the church's influence in the community, and tell a story which younger members of the church will be proud to be part of in the future. Louise Hazeltine, the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Emeline Schooley Hazeltine, was born and raised in Trucksville. She left the community in 1944 to attend college and, following nearly 40 years of employment in New York City, returned to Trucksville in 1988. ~ In writing this history she has relied heavily upon her father's papers in which he recorded state and local history for nearly 40 years. His first publication was A History of Trucksuville Methodist Church, 1944. The book was written to help observe the church's Centennial year. The book will be published in 1994 and dedicated on Heritage Sunday, April 24, 1994. The book is underwritten through memori- als, patrons and sponsorship by members and friends. The dead- line for inclusion of names of contributors in the book is No- vember 30. More information about obtain- ing copies of the book, being a sponsor, or being added to the Sesquicentennial mailing list can be obtained by writing the church at 40 Knob Hill Road, Trucksville or by calling 696-3897.
