Reese. “It honors veterans of all wars.” The original Honor Roll had the names of 128 Dallas Borough men and women serving in World War II etched into its Carra glass sur- face. Topped by a bronze stylized eagle, it also honored the memory of all borough veterans of all wars. The unveiling ceremony in 1943 had been carried to all parts of the borough by a special amplifying system, according to an article in the November 26, 1943 issue of The Dallas Post, with then-editor, Howard Risley, serving as master of ceremonies. Sometime later the Honor Roll was covered with ceramic tile, then with stonework done by local stonemason Jake Andreas, Reese said. Funeral director Richard Dis- que had paid for the stonework and the bronze front plaque, Reese said. ‘when dedicated November 21, 1943. Emmanuel Assembly's Thanksgiving service Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Church Road, Harveys Lake, will host the annual Community Churches Thanksgiving Service Sunday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. Participating with Emmanuel will be the United Methodist Church of Noxen, Kunkle and Ruggles, St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Noxen; and Bowman Creek Free Methodist Church.
