Dr. Mary ' Berninger Allan of Westtown, . Ridgway Espy of McLean, Va., | Walter Morgan of Bryn Mawr, and Charles Parente of Harveys Lake . were honored at the annual rec- ' ognition dinner held by the school's board of trustees. Parente is president and chief executive officer of C-TEC Corpo- ration, a diversified telecommu- nications business headquartered in Wilkes-Barre. He served as a . member of the Wyoming Semi- . nary Board of Trustees from 1976 to 1992. A cum laude graduate of King's College with a bachelor of science degree, Parente joined C- TEC after a distinguished career in accounting: first with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, and later as the managing partner and chief executive officer of Parente, Ran- dolph, Orlando, Carey and Asso- ciates of Wilkes-Barre, the largest accounting firm in Pennyslvania. Former general campaign ~ chairman for the UnitedWay of Wyoming Valley, he serves as chairman of the board of directors at King's College, and also serves on the boards of St. Joseph's Hospital Center Foundation in Scranton and the Wyoming Val- ley Health Care System, Inc. His 7 four children are Wyoming Semi- nary graduates. Allan, a 1947 graduate of Wyoming Seminary, is a native of Folr alumni honored by Wyoming Seminary Harding. she earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1951 from Welle- sley College. After receiving her medical degree from the Univer- sity of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, she completed her in- ternship, residency and a post- doctoral fellowship in cardiology at the Philadelphia General Hos- pital. Twenty-three years after she received her M.D., she re- ceived her law degree from Temple University Law School. A past president of the Chester County Medical Society, she is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. A Wyoming Seminary trustee from 1989 to 1992, she has served as class agent for her class, and served on the school's presiden- tial search committee. Espy, a Kingston native, gradu- ated from Wyoming Seminary in 1939. He holds a bachelor's de- gree from Wesleyan University, where he was named to Phi Beta Kappa. Espy served as a Wyo- ming Seminary trustee from 1979 to 1982, and has been an enthu- siastic and dedicated advocate for Wyoming Seminary. A native of Wilkes-Barre, Mor- gan graduated from the cily's Harry Hillman Academy in 1916 and from Princeton University in 1920. Alter an early career with the accounting firm of Haskins and Sells, he organized and founded one of the nation’s first balanced funds - theWellington Fund in 1928.
