Dr. Donald R. Bronsard, presi- dent of LCCC, gave the main address and conferred degrees for the ninth annual program, which was held at the college's Educa- tional Conference Center. Tho- mas P. Leary, dean of admissions and student affairs/registrar, served as master of ceremonies. The Summer Commencement program began with a welcome by Dr. John Pisano, vice president of academic affairs. Edward McLaughlin, dean of business, engineering and technology and allied health, presented the gradu- ates to Dr. Bronsard for the con- ferring of degrees and certificates; and Leary presented scholastic awards. Following the cermony, gradu- ates and their guests, as well as college officials, attended a recep- tion in the dining facilities of the Educational Conference Center. Market St., Kingston will sponsor the parent- ing seminar series: Systemic Training in Effective Parenting (STEP). Classes will be led by Dr. Jeffrey Sternlieb, psychologist. The series of nine classes will be held at the school on Mondays from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. beginning September 20. The STEP pro- gram topics include: understand- ing your child's behavior and misbehavior, understanding more about emotions, learning to use encouragement, improving com- munications, applying natural and logical consequences, estab- lishing family meetings and de- veloping confidence and growing as a person, as well as becoming a more effective parent.
