All elementary schools will have IST (Instructional Support Teams) this year, who will work with “at risk” children, who have difficulty learning class material, accord- ing to Lake-Noxen and Ross Town- ship principal Robert Kunkle. By using special teaching tech- niques, working one-on-one or in small groups and coordinating their lessons with classroom teachers, the IST teachers will focus on areas where children are than simply being a place to put students too old for elementary school and too young for senior high, the focus is on middle level education, emphasizing the stu- dents’ transition from elementary to high school, their personal development, and preparation for becoming productive citizens, according to principal Bob Roberts.
