AND MRS. ALBERT KLEIN, SR. Kleins celebrate golden wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Albert R. Klein, Sr. of Mountaintop observed their 50th wedding anniversary on December 24. They were united in Holy Matrimony by the Rev. Earl P. Knoblock in the Lutheran Church, Gulfport, Mississippi. At that time Mr. Klein was serving in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was in the European African Middle Eastern Service and was presented the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters. Attendants at the wedding were Howard A. Burdette and the late John P. Cinquegram, friends of Mr. Klein. Mrs. Klein is the former Rose Pstrak, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pstrak of Buttonwood. Mr. Klein is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Klein of Miners-Mills. Mr. Klein was formerly employed at the Boston Store and Mrs. Klein worked for R.C.A., Mountaintop. The couple has two children, Albert, married to Roberta Day- Klein, chiropractors and owners of two Gifts From Above Christian Book Stores in the area, and Sharon, an attorney who was recently promoted as executive assistant to the president of the Shared Medical Systems, Malvern, Pa. They also have three grandchildren, Rebekah, Daniel and Nathanael Klein. The Kleins were honored at a dinner hosted by the couples’ daughter, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren at the Irem Temple Country Club on Dec. 13. Phone (717) 639-1885 Misericordia accounting students offer tax help Accounting students at College Misericordia will offer free tax assistance to elderly and handicapped individuals through the IRS-sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. The VITA ' program. at Misericordia begins Monday, Feb. 1 and includes 18 dates through April 15, according to Fred Croop, accounting program director. “We will be open Monday evenings and Saturday mornings throughout the tax season with the exception of winter and Easter breaks,” explained Croop. Assistance will be available on the fourth floor ‘of : the Administration Building, Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. There will be no assistance available February 27, April 10 and April 12. Appointments and home visits i] are available for individuals who are unable to take advantage of the regularly scheduled hours. “Our goal is to help people with special needs and we will try to be as flexible as possible to meet those needs,” said Croop. Misericordia’s student volunteers are trained to handle state and federal tax returns for persons filing Form 1040EZ, Form 1040A, or a basic 1040 Federal Tax Return. Taxpayers who visit the VITA site at Misericordia should bring their 1992 tax package, wage and earning statements (W-2's for the year) from all employers, interest and dividend statements (1099's), a copy of their 1991 tax return and any other relevant information. Trucksville Fire Company lists 1992's calls At the monthly meeting of the Trucksville Volunteer Fire Company, Fire Chief Brian Johnson listed the calls for 1992. There were a total of 89 calls and approximately 2,800 man hours, at no charge to the community.
