"Kiss. Me Kate” is the first presentation of the 1993 season, and is being done in tribute to the memory of the show's original choreographer, Hanya Holm. Ms. Holm, one of America's most influential proponents of modern dance, wowed Broadway audiences with her dances for a half of dozen musicals, including “Kate”, “Camelot” and “My Fair Lady”. Through her son, Klaus, aresident of Wilkes-Barre and former technical director and professor at the Wilkes University" Theatre Department, and his wife, Heidi, the Hanya Holm estate has been a generous patron of the Music Box Players. At the Holms' request, “Kiss Me Kate" is being staged in her honor. The show is being staged by Debbie Zehner and Kevin Costley is choreographing. Linda Houck is Music Box production of Kiss Me Kate honors benefactor the musical director, and Judith Brokenshire is costume designer assisted by Inez Williams. Michael Gallagher is set and lighting designer. Production dates of “Kiss Me Kate” are January 29 to 31, February 4 to 7, 11 to 14, and 18 to 20. Thursday through Saturday performances are at 8 p.m., the bar opens at 6 p.m. and the buffet dinner is served from 6:30 p.m. Sunday matinees are at 3:15, the bar opens at 1:30 p.m. and the dinner is served at 2 p.m. Dinner/Show tickets are now on sale and show-only tickets went on sale January 22.
