Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown. Brian A. McCloskey, adminis- trator and archivist of Historic St. George's Methodist Church, Phila- delphia, the oldest Methodist Church in continuous use in the western hemisphere, will be litur- gist and will deliver a homily based on a sermon by The Rev. John Wesley, 18th Century leader of the Methodist movement. McCloskey, along with Pastors Harriet L. San- tos and James A. Wert, will be garbed in attire of the clergy of colonial times. The Chancel Choir, directed by Ros Santos, church music direc- tor, will sing the anthem, “O Wor- ship the King” accompanied by the Freedom Ringers Handbell Choir conducted by Peggy Knapich. The choir will also sing responses from the original service. This heritage experience coin- cides with the Shavertown United Methodist Church's 102nd Anni- versary and is sponsored by the church's Committee on Archives and History chaired by Mary Lou and Elwood Swingle.
