Parent conferences are sched- uled with faculty and will last approximately 15 minutes. Each school in the district will conduct parent conferences. + On November 17, students will De dismissed at 12 noon and con- ferences will begin at 12:30 p.m. ‘and continue until 3:15 p.m. On November 18, parents conferences » » Exchange students attend meeting In November will begin at 2 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m., with 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. set aside for dinner. The November 18 night conferences are sched- uled to provide time for working parents to meet with teachers. Parents will receive schedule forms from teachers and return them to school so that a schedule can be completed. Parents are encouraged to attend the confer- ence to support thieir child in the process of education in Lake- Lehman School District. The Dallas Middle School German Club recently held its Guest Speaker meeting. Guests at the meeting were Christian Adamaschek and Gonzalo Callejas who are foreign exchange students attending Dallas Senior High School. Adamaschek and Callejas answered many questions about life in their countries of Germany and Ecuador. The club members were also very interested in the reasons why they chose to become exchange students. Two were exchange students, one from Germany and one from Ecuador. Lake-Lehman band wins first place at competition The Lake-Lehman High School Marching Band competed in the fifth annual “Children’s Miracle March” on Oct. 25 at the Lacka- wanna County Multi-Purpose Stadium, Montage. The band won trophies for First Place, High Music, High Band Front and High Drum Line in their group. They were also awarded the “Lacka- wanna County Cup” for Percus- sion Ensemble of Show, which is an overall award encompassing all four groups. | Their field show this year is “Polovetsian Dances” by composer Alexander Borodin. The show's designers and arrangers are Marc Sylvester, Edward Richards, Todd Marcocci, Dave Gambal and Ed Teleky. The band is directed by Edward Richards. The assistant director is Maureen Richards.
