Obituaries CARL ALTEMUS JR. Carl A. Altemus Jr., of Tunkhannock, died Oct. 25, 1992 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of Carl A. and Kathleen Dymond Altemus, Tunkhannock. Surviving in addition to his GLADYS Gladys M. Araneo, 85 of Belleville, NJ, died Oct. 25, 1992, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Flossie Thurston Palmer. She graduated from Noxen High School. parents, are a brother, Chad, at home; maternal grandparents, Fred and Miriam Dymond, Dallas; paternal grandparents Almon and Katherine Altemus, Shavertown; several uncles, aunts and cousins. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine, Carverton. ARANEO Surviving are her husband, Emil .0., Belleville; daughters, Ruth Greene, Shavertown, Kingston Township; Leah Clements, Sweet Valley; sister, Ruth Craige, Montrose, eight grandchildren; ‘nine great-grandchildren. Interment will private at the convenience of the family. JOHN CAREY John J. Carey, of Ridge Street, Chase Manor, Shavertown, died Oct. 22, 1992 at home after a lengthy illness. Born in Larksville, he resided in Shavertown for 25 years and was a son of the late John L. and Leona all, e was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He was a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown and the Assumpta Knights of Columbus No. 3987. He was also a Fourth Degree member of the Council of Our Lady of Czestochowa. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice. Surviving are his wife, the former Jean Kraynack; son, Jay, Amhearst, Mass.; Joel, Chase; daughters, Janine, Herndon, Va.; Janice, Manassas, Va.; one grandson. Interment, Si.
