The Stogoskis ran back onto their pontoon boat with Webb and headed towards the scene of the accident very slowly. “Everything that was in the boats was floating in the water,” said Bill Stogoski. Webb was lying in the front of the boat looking through the pitch black night for someone in the water. Stogoski heard an- other scream from the water. “I just flew over the side of the boat and I came up underneath him,” said Stogoski. “He went down and I pulled him up. I didn't know until we got to shore that this guy had waders on.” Even with Stogoski holding the man up in the water, and Webb holding him from the boat, the two just couldn't pull him out of the water. So Mary Ann Stogoski pi- loted the boat very slowly to shore to where they could stand up. The man with the waders, Robert Roth, 42, of Drums, was all right afterwards, as were the others involved in the accident which is being investigating by the Penn- sylvania Fish Commission. The accident involved a boat driven by Bob Faher, of Kunkle, and a smaller boat occupied by Roth and Henry Desenroth, 30, of Drums. Faher and the other occupants of his boat, his wife Tammy and a friend, Christine Szot, helped pull Desenroth from the water. Though Webb didn't do as well as she would have liked in the race, finishing 10th among the professional women, her effort Saturday night wasn't unrecog- nized. She was among the volunteers recognized with the David Kramer Volunteer Award by Triathlon offi- cials. Other volunteers recognized were Joan Bush, Ed Gensel, Ron Dean, Tom and Ayleen Landon, Chip Morgan, Sonny Smith, Mary Siegel, Jean Karmiel, and Geoff Dent. Ronald Moss travels to Russia with Baptist ministry group Ronald Moss, formerly of Dal- las, recently traveled to Russia as part of a Baptist Ministry Group. Now a Michigan resident, Moss is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Moss of Dallas. Moss, along with 50 others from the Highland Park Baptist Church traveled throughout Russia, where they ministered through singing. Among the cities the group stopped at was Bryansk, where the Christians had been working to build a church since 1975 after being given permission by the gov- ernment. The government soon reversed its decision, and dragged protesting Christians from the par- tially completed church, which was torn down. Members of the Highland Park Baptist Church donated $16,000 towards building a new church in Bryansk.
