Jumping rope for the Heart Association Students from Gate of Heaven School recently got a jump on heart disease when they participated in a jump rope marathon by jumping rope for over an hour and a half while raising over $2,300. More than 114 students from grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 participated in the first annual Jump Rope for Heart event. Ruth Skammer, physical education teacher, would like to thank all the sponsors who donated their money to benefit the cause, with special thanks to Derek Heppding and Mary Ricci for being the top money raisers.
