Hughes, was recently named chairman of the Board of Directors of the North- eastern Pennsylvania Educational Television Association, the govern- ing body of public television and radio stations, WVIA TV/FM. She has served for several years as a member of the Executive Committee and most recently was vice-chairman. Sylvia has been a member of the WVIA Board of Directors since 1979. Hughes also serves on many area boards and is active in many community organizations. She was a board member of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, the Ameri- can Cancer Society; and the Back Mountain Memorial Library. She was chairman of the Dallas Bor- ough Bicentennial; member of the Continuing Education Committee, Wilkes University; she is also a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Barbara Zarambo receives mammography certification Nesbitt Memorial Hospital radi- ologist Barbara Zarambo, A.A.S., R.T., (R}(M) has received her Mammography Certification from the American Registry of Radiol- ogic Technologists. Mrs. Zarambo recently completd advanced-level testing in the area of mammography. The tests, of- fered for the first time last October, measured the proficiency of the technologist, knowledge of posi- tioning, anatomy of the breast, technique and patient education: A member of Nesbitt Memorial Hospital's Radiology Department, Mrs. Zarambo received an associ- ate’s degree in applied science from College Misericordia in 1975. She has been employed by Nesbitt Memorial Hospital for 16 years. Mrs. Zarambo is assistant chief radiologic technologist and co- facilitator of the nospital’'s Breast Cancer Support Group. She is also a certified specialist in Mammacare, a technique which teaches women how to administer breast self-examinations. In addi- tion, Mrs. Zarambo is a Pennsylva- nia Society of Radiologic Technolo- gists member, and also serves on the Public Education Committee of the American Cancer Society.
