WwW TMZ Z — In the Halls at Lake-Lehman: By: HILLARY LEWIS Student Correspondent - Lake-Lehman is a school rich in tradition. Dallas Week, held the week before the Lehman/ Dallas football game, is just one small part of this tradition. Each day is a special day used to elevate the school spirit. The days consist of sweatshirt day, tie-dye day, a day of mourning, class color day, and finally black and gold day. Lehman's cheerleaders organize these festivities. Every year the victor of the foot- ball game is presented with “the Shoe.” The tradition of the Shoe has been passed down through the generations. During this week, the school unites to face the up- coming game. In addition to the spirit days, there is an assembly held to raise money for the Lake- Lehman yearbook. This year the Dallas week does not only pertain to football, but also to other outstanding Lake- Lehman fall sports. The soccer team ended their regular season ranked fifth in the state and Divi- sion 1 champs. The volley ball team also finished their season with victory as they were presented with the District title. Both teams are working toward a state title. JUNIOR LEADERSHIP The Wilkes-Barre Area Junior Leadership selected Lake-Lehman students for the 1991-1992 school year. Class members for the up coming year are: senior, Karen Sichler; junior, Diana Emery; sophomo «, Christina Jones, and freshman, Kim Daniels. LAKE-LEHMAN SUPPORTS COMMUNITY The Lake-Lehman Student Council, S.A.D.D. members, fac- ulty and students collect canned goods and nonperishable food products for the annual fall food drive. The collection begins weeks before Thanksgiving and is dis- tributed just before the holiday. In the season of giving, Lake- Lehman, too, reaches out to help the com- munity. The food drive has always been a successful event due to the hard-working students and espe: cially Cathy Wolfe, the advisor of both groups. ™ OPEN HOUSE PLANNED On Sunday, November 17 Lake? 2 Lehman High School will be open’ to the public for ceremonies dedi- cating its newly remodeled facili- wid ties.
