Not only do our stu- dents become involved in school- griented activities, they are also vital members of our community. o£ + This year, the Lehman Haunted Barn was more successful than ever, scaring more than four thou- sand people. The proceeds benefit aman United Methodist Youth Group, the Children’s Aid Fund, anid the fire company. Many Lake- Eetiman students participated. The list includes Cheryl Gunn, Kathy nn, -Jamie Moyer, Jason MeDade, Kim Frederick, Amy boski, Lisa Gunn, Craig Bow- ocks, Sarah Sorber, Tracy ik Chris Campbell, Tim Walters. Jenny Cole, and Amanda Yeag er. ROTARY HOLDS EXCHANGE INTERVIEWS Recently, preliminary interviews 0 held for Rotary Exchange Students. Seniors Nicole Hall, Karen Sichler, and Licia Bevilac- qua passed through this initial 4 District -interviews at nkhannock on November 10th await the three. KNIGHTLIFE TAKES ON NEW LOOK KnightLife, Lake-Lehman’s student newspaper, has a new look. Thanks to The Dallas Post and the help of Ron Bartizek, the staff at Lake-Lehman produced a pro- fessionally printed eight page tab- loid which was distributed to the A Rl A SH el fro Lake-Lehman entire student body the day before Halloween. TV STUDIO ON THE AIR This year Lehman boasts its own television studio. They produce news clips known as “A Lake- Lehman Minute”. Senior Jeff Sands writes most material and is in charge of scheduling anchors for these spots. Freshman Nevin Hoyt is crucial to these projects. He is a skilled camera operator and does much of the editing. HALLOWEEN ASSEMBLY The Lake-Lehman Student Council hosted its annual Hallow- een assembly. Greg Dobash was the master of ceremonies. Prizes were awarded in six categories. Chris Concert won for most time spent on a costume, ‘Michael An- drusis for scariest, Jason Toluba and faculty member, Mr. Byron Race for ugliest, and Helen Wasiakowski for prettiest. Most original went to Mike Yoblonski and Chris Pagoda for their clothes- line. The trio who dressed as pop singing group Wilson Phillips, Michelle Price, Shelly Chvotzkin, and Christy Jo Welter, were awarded most entertaining. The assembly was a success thanks to the hard work of students and student council advisor, Cathy Wolfe. Throughout the halls of Lake- Lehman, the hustle and bustle of various activities can be heard. The hard-working, energetic stu- dent body are young adults on the move, with much to offer to the Wyoming Valley. Lehman Band takes first in Geisinger Competition The Lake-Lehman High School Marching Band participated in the Fourth Annual Geisinger Chil- dren’s Miracle March Tournament of Bands Competition held Sun- day, Oct. 28 at the Lackawanna County Multi-Purpose Stadium, Montage. In competition with 19 bands from Pennsylvania and New York, Lake-Lehman was awarded First Place in Group II for the fourth year in a row with a score of 94.2 out of a possible 100. They also won Best Music, Best Percussion, and Best Band Front. The band also took the Best Overall Per- cusion Award as the highest scor- ing Percussion Section in all groups. The program is for four year olds and their par- ents only. The Westmoreland Elementary School held its first PTO meeting of the 1991-92 school year on Sept. 17 at the school’s cafeteria.
