Spencer Martin, regu- lar business of the authority will be conducted at the meeting along with a report on the first month recycling efforts in the Back Moun- tain. The meeting, according to DAMA Chairman, Martin, will also pro- vide a forum for input on the new combined garbage and recycling program from officials of Dallas Boro, Dallas Township and King- ston Township, the three munici- palities participating in the state- mandated recycling effort. Open house at P&G August 14-15 The Procter & Gamble Paper Products Company is having an Open House at their Mehoopany lant on Wednesday and Thurs- nN 7, Aug. 14 and 15. The public is invited to tour the facility and to observe the manufacture of con- sumer paper products such as PAMPERS, LUVS, CHARMIN, WHITE CLOUD, and BOUNTY. In addition to touring some of the operating areas of the plant, visi- tors will see displays and demon- strations which will help to de- scribe the consumer paper prod- ucts business. During the Open House hours, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., tours are self guided, and no tickets or appointments are re- quired. . “We're celebrating our 25th anniversary this year,” said Site Director Mary Anne Gale, the plant's top manager, “and this is our way of including the commu- nity in our celebration. We're very proud of our plant, and we're very proud of our relationship with the community. You have helped us grow. To say thank you, we're in- viting all our neighbors to see our operation.” The plant is located on Route 87, near the village of Mehoopany. The facility is the largest P&G plant in the world, employing over 3000 Northeastern Pennsylvanians and providing an annual payroll in excess of $100 million. Born Oct. 3, 1909, in Larksville, he was the son of the late George and Anna Hanchulak Stashko. He resided in Dallas for the past 39 years. He was a retired mine worker, working in area mines for 38 years. He was preceded in death by brothers, John, Michael, Joseph and Nicholas; sisters, Mrs. Mary Konnick and Mrs. Anna Adamovitch. .
