She was born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of James and Mary McGraw O'Donnell. Ms. Jones was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes-Barre, class of 11971, and the University of Ken- ‘tucky, where she taught textile design for two years. She was an “accomplished artist and taught art - classes in St. Petersburg, Fla. Ms. “Jones was a member of the Donegal ' Society and one of the original Ceili - Dancers. Surviving in addition to her parents are her son, Brian; brother, James O'Donnell Jr., Harveys Lake; ‘sisters, Gail Matzel, Binghamton, “N.Y.; Maureen Lynch, Shavertown; Aileen McHale, Harveys Lake; and ! The award, given to the student who has made the greatest contribution to the campus and to the community, was established in 1968 by the Circle K in recognition of Mr. Ackerson’s contribution to Circle K clubs. Cheryl Valenta, right, of Philadelphia, club president, made Ed Carey dies from auto crash injuries The man who was known to many as Santa Claus in Shaver- town was killed on July 1 after his car struck a tree on Upper Demunds Road. State police say that Edward Carey, 79, of Sunset Avenue, Shavertown, was traveling in Franklin Township when his car left the roadway while rounding a turn.
