Larish of Ransom Road, Dallas, recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. On May 15, 1940, Kenneth Raymond Larish and Mertie Grace Evans were married in a double-ceremony along with Aldona Schacochius and Glen Dymond. The Reverend Donald Crompton performed the ceremony at the West Pittston Meth- odist Church Parsonage. Kenneth and Mertie Larish spent their wedding day in Hershey and then traveled to Skyline Drive, Virginia for their honeymoon. Mr. Larish is a graduate of Wyoming High School, class of 1935. He was employed by the Pennsylvania State Police as a mechanic for 37 years. He designed and constructed the family home on Ransom Road where the couple has lived for 50 years. Mrs. Larish graduated from Beaumont High School in 1937. She taught Vacation Bible School at the Orange Methodist Church and also served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. They have one daughter, Mrs. Joseph R. (Sue) Hand and one granddaughter, Heather Lynne Hand. MacAvoy is new pastor in Noxen The Independent Bible Church of Noxen recently called to the pastorate Thomas MacAvoy, Pastor MacAvoy is a graduate of Dallas Senior High School, Susquehanna University and Bob Jones University. Included in the picture with Pastor MacAvoy are his wife Wanda, son Tommy and daughter Jennifer. May Crowning at St. Therese's The annual May Crowning ceremony was held recently at St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown. Crowning of the Blessed Virgin was done by 10-year-old May Queen Brooke Chanel Posatko, above, daughter of Atty. and Mrs. David Posatko of Dallas.
