DENMON Staff Writer The Dallas Mountaineers topped the 100 point mark for the third consecutive game last Thursday as they rolled over Bishop O'Reilly 101-69. Ray Russin led the scoring with 30 points. Damon Lisnow and Dave Puz had 23 and 22 respectively. The Mountaineers were behind by a point at halftime, but they came on strong in the second half to score 40 points in the third period while holding the Queensmen to 13 and then outscored the Queensmen 23-17 in the final period. Puzand Russin tossed in 19 and 17 of their points in the second half while Lisnow contributed another 10. Mark Medura hit 14 points, three of his goals three- pointers. In their game with Hanover Area Tuesday night, the Mountain- eers defeated the Hawkeyes by a decisive 100-69 score led by Damon Lisnow's 31 points. Lisnow tossed in 11 points in the second quarter t o spark the Mountaineers to 24-13 scoring over the Hawkeyes, breaking an 18-18 tie at the end of the first period. Medura scored seven points in the second period to add to the Dallas lead. In the third period the Mountaineers outscored Hanover 32-19 and agin by 26-19 in the fourth period. Puz tossed in 20 points for Dallas, Russin added 14 and Todd Paczewski put in 10 points. Me- dura, Paczewski and Wagner each had three-pointers for the Mountaineers. Gingo takes 4th In district wrestling tournament Aaron Gingo, an eighth grade student at Dallas Middle School, captured fourth place in the Dis- trict 2 Junior High Wrestling tour- nament last weekend. Gingo, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gingo of Shavertown, reached the semi finals at 125 pounds with two victories Friday evening. He defeated John Elko of Wyoming Area in the opening round 7-0. Gingo avenged a dual meet loss in the quarter-final round when he pinned second-seeded JeffHughes of Pittston Area. In Saturday morning's semi'’s, Gingo lost a tough 2-0 decision to David Vitale of Nanticoke. Vitale scored an early takedown and held on for the win as Gingo nearly earned back points at the end of the third period. Gingo lost another heartbreaker in the consolation round as he fell, 14-7 in overtime, to Paul Gribble of Plains. He finished the season with a record of 10-6. “Aaron wrestled very tough in every match of the tourney,” said Dallas coach Scott Crispell. “Even when he was trailing, he never gave up. He wrestled with more intensity than he did all season. He eaasily could have been in the finals.” Former Dallas grappler Mike Richards served as the Mountain- eers junior high assistant coach. Lady Mounts Diane Demko and Wendy Cave hit the double figures with 11 points and 15 respectively with Demko tossing in three goals from the field and going 5-for14 from the foul line. BLack Knights drop two Lake-Lehman’s Black Knights ended their second half with a disappointing 59-56 loss to Northwest when the Rangers came from behind to outscore the Knights 31-12 in the second and third periods after trailing 20-8 in the first quarter.
