Red Cross schedules instructor courses The Wyoming Valley Chapter, American Red Cross will be conduct- ing the following Instructor Courses: Community CPR, Feb. 7 and 14; Basic Life Support, Feb. 19 and 21; Water Safety Instructor, March 11 to 23. All classes, with the exception of Water Safety, will be held at the Chapter House, 156 S. Franklin St.; Wilkes-Barre. Ballet theatre school slates classes Classes for the spring session are now forming at the Back Mountain Branch of the Wilkes-Barre Ballet Theatre School, located at the Eastern Star Building, Dallas. Lou Holtz will be speaker | Heydt to be honored at Boy Scout dinner Feb. 21 Dr. Stuart Heydt, President and Chief Operating Officer of Geisin- ger Medical Foundation, Danville, has been selected as the 1991 recipient of the Distinguished Citi- zenship in the Community Award by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, Boy Scouts of America. He will be guest of honor at the Friends of Scouting Dinner on February 21, at the Genetti Best Western Convention Center, Wilkes-Barre. Dr. Heydt is a past member of the Executive Board and current Member at Large of the Northeast- ern Pennsylvania Council. He served as chairman of the 1987 Friends of Scouting Dinner. He most recently served as Presi- dent and Chief Executive Officer of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. His intense involvement in community affairs has greatly benefited the Northeastern Penn- sylvania area. Some of Dr. Heydt’s former ac- tivities include service as Chair- man of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors, Johnson Technical In- stitute, Scranton; Board of Direc- tors, Economic Development Coun- cil of Northeast Pa.; and a member of the Marworth Board of Directors in Waymart. Dr. Heydt currently sits on the Board of Directors for Pennsylva- nia Power and Light and the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Indus- try Board. Lou Holtz, Notre Dame's Foot- ball Coach will be the featured speaker at the dinner. Holtz is the author of the best selling book, the “Fighting Spirit” and the number one best selling motivational video “Do Right!” He led the Notre Dame football team to the national cham- pionship in 1988. A capacity crowd of 1600 top business and community leaders are expected to attend the $125 per plate dinner. Richard L. This will be the largest fund raising event of its kind ever to be held in Northeastern Pennsylva- nia.
