Sem Lower School students help SPCA As a holiday fundraising project, middle school students from Wyoming Seminary Lower School, Forty Font, raised money for the SPCA. Organizaed by the Student Government, events also included a pizza sale in the cafeteria during Christmas week, game night, dance, and dress-down day. Pizza was | donated by the Buonsante Family, Shavertown and Dino’s Pizza. ? Representatives presented a check for $550 to the SPCA prior to the winter break. Included into School of Arts and Sciences, was Brian B. Koo, Dallas, student at Wyoming Seminary. Trucksville Nursery registration set for Feb. 1 Trucksville Nursery School will be having its registration for the 1991-1992 school year. Registra- tion will be open to the general public on Friday, Feb. 1. Classes will be offered for ages ranging from 2 1/2 years old to 5 years old. Open house will be on February 1, from 10 a.m. to 12:30. The school now celebrates its 22nd year of service to the Back Mountain community. and sur- rounding areas. This year there are 13 classes of children ages twe through five years old. Emphasis is on socialization and developing a child's self esteem. There are a variety of field trips throughout the year and opportunities for the children to become more aware of the world around them. This month the children are involved in learn- ing activities relating to the winter season. They are discussing proper dress for winter, hibernation, and care of winter birds. Another special project has been learning about endangered spe- cies. The year’s focus is to learn about the endangered African ele- phant. The children also recently had their eyes tested by the Penn- sylvania Blind Association. The preschoolers, are involved in making crafts related to the current theme, role playing, sing- ing, and action games without losers. They often enjoy cooking activities and science experiments. A prereadiness program has been designed to help develop small motor skills and basic concepts. Children in the four and five year old classes use their skills in a unique learning lab setting. The third grade students made 50 stars. All of the pieces were put together to make our flag. It is on display in the lobby showcase at Lake-Noxen Elementary to honor our soldiers.
