Fees (continued from page 1) because of the magnitude involved wwith the project,” said Sunday. “This is a once in a lifetime project that will be helping to clear up water for the area.” Sunday said that the company had similar projects in the Scran- ton area and local municipalities dropped the building permit fees and that helped keep costs low for customers. “We are looking out for our rate payers because what we pay will then be part of our rate base, so when we go for a rate increase it will all come back to the public at large,” said Sunday. The request amounts to a dif- ference of nearly $36,000 for the township. Building permit fees will be paid on an estimated $12 mil- lion of the project. The cost for PG&W at the regular permit fee would be nearly $49,000; the company would pay only about $13,000 if the fee were lowered. Even though no decision was .made the supervisors were leery of jhe request. Supervisor Joseph tager felt that allowing a special fee for one company could create problems. “When I look at all the developments going up in the Back Mountain and in Jackson Town- ship I notice that we didn’t give the building contractors a break for the volume or size of the contract,” he said. “What will stop the next person from saying they want to negotiate the fee the next time?” asked Stager. “I don’t know if we are in a negoti- ating position,” he added. Chairman Thomas Adams noted that residents of Jackson Town- ship would not be affected by the project. “Our residents aren't wa- ter customers with PG&W,” said Adams. “We have wells back here and we will have to answer to those who may not benefit directly.” The board also questioned why approximately $9 million of the project is not subject to the build- ing permit fees. Sunday said that public utilities are often not re- quired to pay building fees on cer- tain phases of projects such as the one being proposed in the town- ship. The board's solicitor, Blythe Evans, asked that the company provide the board with more de- tails on the project and its costs before a decision be made. “These men have to answer to the public and $13,000 in fees seems unrea- sonable for this project,” said Evans. Kauffman said the company would forward the project inforina- tion to the township's building inspector. The board said it would review the information before making the decision. Kauffman also said that PG&W will be doing other work near the dam. The second project calls for Pike's Creek Reservoir's auxiliary spillway to be enlarged. Kauffman said the project is required by the Little Caesar's now accepting applications for Assistant Managers or Crew Members for part time. Flexible hours. In most standard vision testing, you read the familiar Snellen eye chart at a distance of 20 feet. The upper number of the fraction expresses this distance. The lower number identifies the size letters you were able to read at this distance. Thus 20/70 vision means thatyou are able toread at 20 feet the line which a normal eye can read at 70 feet. Often, this test is given by having you look into a machine which creates the same conditions optically. Theresults are roughly similar to those of the Shellen chart.
