HARRY VIVIAN, IV Kimberly Ritts becomes bride of Harry Vivian, IV Kimberly Ann Ritts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Ritts, Trucksville Gardens, and Harry Melvin Vivian, IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Vivian, Jr., Dallas, were united in marriage recently in St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, by Monsignor Kevin O'Neill The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose her sister Kelly Ann, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Ellen O'Fier, Christine Luksic, Deneen Gosko and Sherry Monteleone. Dr. John F. Handley, Jr. served as best man. Ushers were Paul A. Ritts, brother of the bride, Michael Amory, Chuck Story and Gabriel Monteleone. An evening cocktail and dinner reception was held at the Sheraton Crossgates, Wilkes-Barre. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the bridegroom, was held at the Westmoreiand Club. The bride was feted at a shower given by her mother and ~ bridesmaids at the Knights of Columbus, Luzerne. The bride and groom were also entertained at an outdoor cocktail party held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Graham, Lake Nuangola. Hosts and hostesses were Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Mackall, Mrs. Barbara Vivian, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Post Sr., Mr. and Mrs. James O. Lacy, Mrs. Judy Schellenberg and the Grahams. The couple was entertained at cocktail parties upon their arrival home. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Graham, Jr. held an outdoor party, while Mr. and Mrs. Robert Plava, aunt and uncle of the bride hosted a party at Fox Hill Country Club. The bride is a graduate of Dallas Senior High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from College Misericordia. She is employed as a registered nurse in the office of Dr. David Greenwald and Dr. Bruce Saidman. The bridegroom is a graduate of Dallas Senior High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration - from College Misericordia. He is president of North Branch Mill- work, Kingston. Following a wedding trip to St. Martin and Florida, the couple will reside in Dallas. MR. AND MRS. FRED SWANSON Swansons celebrate 50 years together Mr. and Mrs. Fred V. Swanson of Ruggles, recently marked their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married September 29, 1940. Mrs. Swanson is the former Virginia Allen, daughter of the late Harry and Ida Allen of Harveys Lake. Mr. Swanson is the son of the late Frank and Anna Swanson of Ruggles. The couple has three grandchildren: Donna Swanson, Timo- thy Swanson and Jennifer Swanson. The couple will celebrate their anniversary with an open house on October 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Trinity United Presby- terian Church, 105 Irem Road, Dallas, hosted by their son, Timothy Swanson. An invitation is extended to family and friends of Virginia's and Fred's to come and wish the couple continued best wishes. No gifts please. Ceases to mark their Golden Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Cease of 142 Franklin Street, Dallas, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Oct. 12. Mrs. Cease is the former Elizabeth Breckenridge, daughter of the late James H. and Ella Bulford Breckenridge and stepdaughter of the . late Olie L. Harvey. Mr. Cease is a son of Hendrick B. Cease and Sarah Evarts Cease, both deceased, of Ceasetown The couple were married in the Dallas United Methodist Church by the Rev. Francis F. Freeman. Their attendants were, maid of honor, Ruth May Hazel; bridesmaid, Jeanne Cease. Best man, Vernon Cease. Ushers were, Harold Elston, Durwood Splitt, Wesley Oliver and Preston Evarts. Flower girl, Nancy Elston; ring brearer, Wilson Cease. ; Mrs. Cease is a graduate of Coughlin High School and Wyoming Seminary College of Business. She was employed as secretary to the Luzerne County Law and Library Association and later as legal secretary to Assistant United States Attorney Arther A. Maguire. Mr. Cease is a graduate of Harter High School, West Nanticoke and Pennsylvania State College Extension School in Civil Engineer- ing. He was Service Manager of Cease Motor Company and received gold tools and Master Technician certificates for excellence in teaching mechanics school. During World War II he was employed as a final assembly inspector of Army Aircraft engines at Middle- town Air Depot. Mr. and Mrs. Cease have one son, Rev. Dr. Allan J. Cease, a united methodist minister and currently serving as a chaplain at Wesley Village and as a resident chaplain at Williamsport Hospital. They have one grandson, Christian Allan Cease, also of Wil- liamsport. The Ceases are members of Dallas United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cease served as president of the United Methodist Women and .most of the commissions of the church. She was Back Mountain chairman of the World Day of Prayer for many years. Mrs. Cease is in poor health and confined to her home. However, the Ceases are always glad to see or hear from relatives and friends. - MR. AND MRS. THOMAS CEASE with grandson, Christian Allan Cease AN J NT Wrights celebrate 60th wedding anniversary r. and Mrs. Willard Wright Sr. of Chase Rd., Jackson Town- ship observed their 60th wedding anniversary on October 1. They were married in their new home in Idetown by the late Rev. James Burleigh. Attendants were Ruth Meeker King, sister of the bride, and the late Herbert Wright, brother of the groom. Mrs. Wright is the former Mildred Meeker, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Meeker of Meeker. Mr. Wright is the son of the late Mr..and Mrs. Frank Wright of Idetown. Mr. Wright is retired after 26 years service from the former Miners National Bank Building of Wilkes-Barre. Mr. and Mrs. Wright are active members of Huntsville U.M. Church and active in community affairs. Mrs. Wright was em- ployed for a number of years by Aetna Life Insurance Co. in Wilkes-Barre. The Wrights have two sons, Dale Wright, who lives in Jackson Township with his wife Norma and Willard Wright Jr. who lives in Dallas with his wife Carolyn. They have eight grandchildren: Donald, Allen, Kenneth, Bra- dley, Laura, Willard J. III, Mark and Wade and two great grand- children, Brian and Willard J. IV. Mrs. Robert Richardson and Mrs. Charles Butler are co-chairmen of the event. The evening will begin with hors d'oeuvres at the home of Mrs. Robert Richardson and end with the main course and dessert at the home of Mrs. DeWayne Egly. There will be plenty of fun, food and fellowship in between. Reservations must be made to the telephone squad by October 4 so food can be ordered. Club members will pay the same amount as they pay each month for their dinner meeting. This month's prof- its will go for community projects as all food is being donated by the cominittee. Club members are reminded to womens organization in the world. The main object of the club is community involvement and fel- lowship with direct emphasis on. education. The D.A.F.W.C. presents two scholarships annually to Back Mountain students,; donates to the Back Mountain Memorial Li- brary; members serve many hours working at the library auction and the Luzerne County Fall Fair. The club also strives to meet the needs of any family with an unforseen tragedy or need when funds are available.
