Second base and outfielder Susan Slocum, Dallas, a senior occupa- tional therapy major, was named ~ second in the district in total bases eight in overall hits. Outfielder Tracy Hunter, Trucksville, was fourth in the dis- trict in pitching with a 0.74 ERA. She also was sixth in the district in overall hits and 19th in hitting. Hunter is a sophomore business administration major. Dallas High sports physicals scheduled Jerry Stinson, Athletic Director on balls, seventh in hitting and gust 1-5 in the Lehigh Valley area of Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. Local athletes to participate in 1990 Keystone Games TARA LISNOW WILL PLAY BASKETBALL Tara Lisnow of Dallas will be among 6,000 Pennsylvania ama- teur athletes to compete in the 1990 Keystone State Summer Games finals scheduled for Au- Division for the Pocono Region. DENMON Staff Writer Back Mountain American Le- gion bowed 8-3 to Plymouth Sat- urday in the regular season's final game but the local Legion team with a 15-3 record is win- ner of the North Division. Brian Miller and Sean Sorber did the pitching with Sorber taking the loss. In Friday's game the Back Mountain defeated Swoyersville 7-4 taking a three run lead in the first inning which they never gave up. Eric May relieved by Matt Butler picked up the win, combining for six hits in the game for Swoyersville. Keith Schultz drove out a three-run homer. Ray Russin hit a lead-off single in the first inning and Mike Strutko followed with another single. With run- ners on first and third, Chris Engle hit a fielder’s choice, then Schultz came up and hit his home run. In the second inning the Back Mountain added three more runs to take a 6-0 lead. The local boys scored one more run in the fifth. Swoyersville scored two runs in the fourth and two in the sixth before they went down to defeat 7-4. Gorgone struck out five and walked only three but gave up six hits. Schultz came in as relief and struck out six, walked none and gave up only one hit. Schultz and Rich James hit doubles in the game. The game was tied at 3-3 until the top of the fifth inning when Back Mountain scored five runs to move in front 8-3. Butler, Engle and Schultz were the power at the plate.
