10 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, July 11, 1990 COMMUNITY i Sports Car Club to hold Solo ll Autocross at Dallas July 15 On Sunday, July 15 the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) repre- ~ sented by the Northeast Pa. Region (NEPA) will hold a Solo II Autocross at the Dallas Senior High School parking lot. Technical inspection and sign up will begin a 9 a.m. with the first car scheduled torunat 11:30 a.m. The event is open to the public which is invited to view the event at no charge or to participate in it for a fee of $11.00 per car. A Solo II Autocross is an event held in a parking lot that has had a course set up in it. The course, around turns and thru slalom sections, generally takes aboutone divided into classes based on car type and are scored by class. The SCCA stresses safety and car control at events like this and encourages the public to attend and even participate. Participants must be 18 years or older and possess a valid drivers license. You need not be a member of SCCA to participate. Partici- pants’ cars must pass a technical inspection and instruction will be provided to those who have not been involved in a Solo II. The SCCA has also scheduled Solo II Autocross events as follows: August 5, Luzerne County Com- munity College; August 19, Dallas minute to complete. The cars are Senior High School. !
