Lady Mountaineers drop title game top of the seventh inning on five hits — two by Justine Nemshick, who went 5-for-5 for the day — one walk, three errors and a sacrifice. The Lady Mountaineers came back to score two runs in the bot- tom of the seventh, but a double play stopped their rally and gave the Comets the game. Debbie Davenport, of Shavertown, was one of the more than 50 of Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus’ top students honored ata “Celebration of Academic Excellence” awards program and reception hosted recently by the Faculty Senate and the campus Alumni Society in the new campus Center for Technol- ogy. Refreshments were prepared by Weavers Market, Centermoreland. Awards were presented to the top students in each academic department and college. Debbie received the Education/History Depart- ment Award. A sophmore history major, she plans to pursue her baccalaureate degree at Penn State's University Park campus in the fall.
