The United States Achievement Academy announced recently that Ryan Moss has been named a United States National Award winner in band. The Academy recognizes less » than 10% of all American high school students. Ryan, who attends Dallas Middle School was nominated for this National Award by Mr. Michael Pawlik, Band Instructor/Teacher at the school. Ryan will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Offi- cial Yearbook, published nation- ally. Student Artists honored Award winning student artists from the Dallas, Lake-Lehman, Tunkhannock and Northwest school districts were honored recently at College Misericordia, during this year’s ninth annual Suzanne Marie Rosetti Memorial Juried Art Show. About 280 pieces of art, created by junior and senior high school students, were judged by a three-judge panel and displayed during the exhibit. This annual exhibition is sponsored by Joe and Sue Hand, Dallas. Musgrave awarded Drasnin Tammy Musgrave, RD 1, Moscow, a senior nursing major at College Misericordia, has been awarded the College's first annual Sharon Drasnin Scholarship, said Dr. Gertrude Torres, director of the nursing division. Musgrave is a 1987 graduate of North Pocono High School. She is the daughter of Floyd H. Musgrave, of Johnson City, N.Y. and Sharon R. Burton, RD 1 Moscow. The scholarhship, called the Sharon Drasnin Scholarship in honor of the late Misericordia Scholarship at Misericordia graduate and part-time faculty member, is awarded each year to outstanding senior nursing stu- dents at Misericordia. The Col- lege’s nursing faculty awards the scholarship to a nursing student who demonstrates eXcellence in the study for a bachelors of science degree in nursing. Sharon Drasnin, Dallas, gradu- ated from Misericordia with a masters of science degree in nurs- ing in 1984.
